
华风不讲中文,酷儿未必同志:后身份政治的影像
Sinophone without Chinese, Queer not Comrades: Film in Post Identity Politic Context
历史形成的华人的流散身份在近年来因为疫情等原因更显得突出。有人润出去,有人留下来,当然也有人流进来。
“华语电影”在主流电影产业中已经越来越概念模糊,酷儿议题交叉更放大这种撕裂。流散让文化、语言不再是定义一个创作者、一部影片的尺子。如同酷儿身份的大家未必有着共同的理想生活。近年来华夷风(Sinophone,又译作华语语系)的概念逐渐被提出来反思身份。如果我们未必用同一语言拍片,那么是什么让我们亲切?如果我们被阶级、国界、立场所隔开那么又是什么链接我们?
The scattered identity of the Chinese diaspora has become more prominent in recent years, especially due to reasons such as the pandemic. Many people have “ran away” (润), some have stayed, and of course also people came in. “Chinese cinema” has been increasingly an ambiguous label within the mainstream film industry, intersection of queerness further amplify this divide. The dispersion of people has made culture and language no longer the sole measure of defining a filmmaker or a film. Just like the diverse identities within the queer community, there may not necessarily be a common ideal life. In recent years, the concept of Sinophone has been gradually proposed to reflect on identity. If we don’t necessarily use the same language to make films, what makes us feel connected? And if we are separated by class, nationality, or ideology, what links us together?

“彩虹家庭三部曲”,包括《柜族》、《彩虹伴我心》、《彩虹伴我行》三部作品关注于同志出柜议题,引起巨大社会反响。除此之外他参与组织北京酷儿影展十余年,也是酷儿大学视频训练营的发起者之一。2012年,香港同志影展授予他“玲珑大奖”以表彰其在同志影像、平权的不懈努力。2017年,他获选参与柏林电影节“天才训练营”。2019,他更担任柏林电影节泰迪熊奖评委。 目前他居住柏林正着力发展自己的剧情长片首作。
Popo Fan is a filmmaker, writer, and activist from China, where his queer documentary films have made a notable impact. Since 2016, he has concentrated on writing and directing scripted, sex-positive shorts. He is the co-founder of the Queer University Video Training Camp and has been an organizer of the Beijing Queer Film Festival for more than a decade. Popo was invited to sit on the jury of the Teddy Award of the Berlinale in 2019. He is currently based in Berlin developing his fictional feature debut.

包宏伟 Hongwei Bao
包宏伟是英国诺丁汉大学媒体研究副教授。他是英国新艺术家(UK New Artists)的受托人,并担任爱丁堡大学出版社政治电影系列、英国中国研究期刊和中国独立电影观察期刊的编辑委员会成员。他曾组织过跨国激进电影研讨会,并策划了诺丁汉华语独立电影节。他还曾担任Watersprite电影节(剑桥)的LGBTQ+ Mentoring奖评审委员会成员,并主持了Queer East(伦敦)和北京酷儿影展的座谈会和问答环节。他在华语独立电影档案(Newcastle)上撰写和编辑了一个名为“Queer Lens”的酷儿电影专栏。
Hongwei Bao (he/him) is an Associate Professor in Media Studies at the University of Nottingham. He is a Trustee of UK New Artists and serves on the editorial boards of the Political Cinemas book series (Edinburgh University Press), British Journal of Chinese Studies and Chinese Independent Film Observer. He has organised the Transnational Radical Film Conference and curated Nottingham Chinese Independent Film Festival. He has served on the LGBTQ+ Mentoring Award jury for Watersprite Film Festival (Cambridge) and chaired panels and Q&As for Queer East (London) and Beijing Queer Film Festival. He writes and edits a queer film column titled ‘Queer Lens’ for Chinese Independent Film Archive (Newcastle).
唐雪丹 TANG Xuedan (Echo)
唐雪丹是一位来自中国成都,现居柏林的电影策展人和文化工作者。她曾在上海、纽约和伦敦学习,拥有政治科学学士学位和艺术管理硕士学位。毕业后,她曾在北京进行纪录片制片的工作。2021年,她获得了德国总理奖学金,并移居柏林。她于2022年发起了CiLENS,这一华语电影策展项目综合了她在电影研究、女性主义和社会参与实践方面的持续兴趣。随着CiLENS的发展,她也创立了独立华语影展作为核心项目,并成功为第二届影展申请到了柏林参议院文化部的资金支持。
TANG Xuedan (Echo) is a Berlin-based film curator and cultural worker from Chengdu, China. She has studied in Shanghai, New York, and London with a BA in Political Science and an MA in Arts Management. After graduation, she worked in Beijing as a documentary producer. In 2021, she was admitted to the German Chancellor Fellowship and moved to Berlin. Embracing her multifaceted interests and ongoing research in cinema, feminism, and socially engaged practices, she founded CiLENS in 2022, a Sinophone film curation collective embodying the convergence of these passions. As CiLENS evolved, she founded Indie Chinese Cinema Week (ICCW) as the core project, and has gained funding support from the Berlin Senate of Culture for its second edition.
马熊 Matthew Baren
CINEMQ 创始人。短片《红马》导演。马熊是一位英国电影制片人和酷儿社区组织者,目前居住在上海。他是CINEMQ的联合创始人,这是一个地下酷儿电影团体,致力于推广更广泛的酷儿电影意识,通过影像文化引发关于中国 LGBTQ+ 经历和观点的讨论。2018年,他执导了纪录片《炫目上海滩》,该片深入探讨了上海一场具有开创性意义的变装秀的幕后情况。
Founder, CINEMQ. Director, the short film “Red Horse”. Matthew Baren is a British filmmaker and queer community organiser based in Shanghai. He is a co-founder of CINEMQ, an underground queer cinema collective promoting a broader awareness of queer film, and generating discussion on LGBTQ+ experience and perspectives in China through screen culture. In 2018, he directed the documentary Extravaganza, which goes behind the scenes of a groundbreaking Shanghai drag show.
黄倩仪 Quen Wong
《一些女人》的导演和主要人物。黄倩仪是新加坡的电影制片人。2018年,她执导了《Building Bridges》,这是新加坡粉红点运动的五部短片之一,旨在抗议针对同性恋男性的刑事法律377A条款。黄倩仪的作品还包括制作2014年的纪录片《Undercover Asia: Treatment or Torture》,该片调查了柬埔寨戒毒中心内的人权侵犯行为。在此之前,她曾是国家地理频道亚洲区的屡获殊荣的预告片制作人和内容创作者。《一些女人》是黄倩仪的首部特别长篇电影,荣获2021年SGIFF观众选择奖。该纪录片还于2019年获得Tan Ean Kiam Foundation – SGIFF东南亚纪录片奖助金(SEADOC),并于2020年在Docs by the Sea上获得IDFA(阿姆斯特丹国际纪录片电影节)项目奖。
Director and protagonist, the Documentary “Some Women”. Quen Wong is a Singaporean filmmaker. In 2018, Quen directed ‘Building Bridges’, one of five short films created for Singapore’s Pink Dot protest against Section 377A, a law criminalising sex between men. Quen’s work also includes producing ‘Undercover Asia: Treatment or Torture’ (2014), an investigation of human rights abuses that took place in drug rehabilitation centres in Cambodia. Previous to that, she was an award-winning trailer producer and content creator with National Geographic Channel Asia. ‘Some Women’ is Quen’s debut feature film, winning the Audience Choice Award at SGIFF 2021. The documentary was also a recipient of the Tan Ean Kiam Foundation – SGIFF Southeast Asian Documentary Grant (SEADOC) in 2019 and the IDFA (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam) Project Award at Docs by the Sea in 2020.
