青年女性作家文一倾收到了一份来自上海的写作邀约，32岁的茶楼老板邱景书希望她将自己与已故恩师崔理的故事撰写成小说。三年前，崔理查出癌症，邱景书悔于多年疏远，放下一切奔赴至老师的床边。两人相伴一年，直至老师去世。老师走后邱景书收到一个神秘的盒子，里面竟装满了昔年自己寄给老师的明信片和书信，还有老师从未寄出的封封回信……文一倾作为记录者，在这个陌生的城市里，遇到了性格大相径庭却惺惺相惜的陌生朋友，她的内心也与这段往事产生了奇妙的共鸣……

Young female writer Wen Yiqing received a writing invitation from Shanghai. Olivia Qiu, a 32-year-old teahouse owner, hoped that Wen would write a novel based on her story with her late mentor, Mrs Choi. Three years ago, Mrs Choi was diagnosed with cancer. Olivia regretted her years of estrangement and dropped everything to rush to Mrs Choi’s bedside. They stayed together for a year until Mrs. Choi passed away. After that, Olivia received a mysterious box filled with postcards and letters she had sent to Mrs. Choi in the past, as well as reply letters that Mrs Choi had never sent… Wen, as a story recorder wandering in the unfamiliar city, met a stranger with very different personalities but sympathetic to each other. Her heart rippled and had a wonderful resonance this past event…

林忆惠，2021年毕业于上海戏剧学院电影电视学院，影视导演专业，专业硕士学位，师承国家一级导演吴天戈导演，现为独立编剧、导演，与2023年成立上海卢卡映画工作室。在创作中致力于塑造不同性格、温和沉静的女性角色，运用细腻优美的电影语言诠释女性之间的奇妙邂逅与美好相处故事。

Li Yihui, born in 1995, graduated with an MFA in Film Directing from Shanghai Academy of Drama (Class 2018). Lin made short film debut The Storyteller and feature-length film debut 7 Days Encounter (in the process of post-production) in 2021. She studied under Director Wu Tiange, a national first-class director, and is now an independent screenwriter and director. In 2023, she established Shanghai Luca Film Studio. In creating movies, Lin is committed to shaping gentle and calm female roles with different personalities. Throughout the scenes, Lin likes using exquisite and aesthetic film language to interpret the stories of wonderful encounters and beautiful relationships between women.

2020年年初，导演因网络上的一篇长文获得灵感，遂发起这个暂定名叫《七日》的项目，成为本片的首个模糊的雏形。

这部长片电影讲述的是四个女人的之间细腻柔和的相处过程，电影的主基调无疑是凄美的。本片中的四位女性性格经历迥异，又各富魅力，在这四个女人的影子背后，师生情谊与陌生友谊这两条线的交织网下，导演还深藏了更多点到为止的思考，无论任何年龄与性别，都会思考的对于生命的意义。一层一层的意蕴内涵口味绵厚、层次丰富，众多的细节被隐藏在这个简单的故事中，等待观众一起来细细品味。

最终的片名选定为《她听她的故事》，以体现出女性与女性之间惺惺相惜、共情共景的能力。导演也想借由本片，让更多人关注女性这一群体的特殊魅力，也通过最动人的镜头笔触，将女导演的细腻、深刻、坚韧展现出来。

In early 2020, the director was inspired by a long article on the Internet, and launched this project tentatively titled “Seven Days”, which became the first vague prototype of the film. This feature-length film tells the story of the delicate and gentle relationship between four women. The main tone of the film is undoubtedly poignant. The four women in this film vary greatly in personalities and experiences with individual charm. Behind the shadows of them and beneath the intertwined network of teacher-student friendship and strange friendship, the director also provides hidden insights reflecting the meaning of life that will be thought about by people of all ages and genders. The layers of meanings and connotations as well as rich details are hidden in this simple story, waiting for the audience to savor it together.

The final title of the film was selected as The Story Teller to reflect the ability of women to appreciate and empathize with each other. The director also wants to use this film to draw more people to pay attention to the special charm of the female group, and also to show the delicacy, depth, and tenacity of female directors through the most moving shots.
