No Stress! (2002)、I have a confession to make…(2010)、DIX(2017)

Synopsis

Some men and women hear words. Words, again and again, are the same words. Just words? Those words are discriminatory, homophobic, lesbophobic, transphobic. Some of them will be insulted, despised, harassed, threatened, mugged, tortured, killed. Who are the assailants? Who are the victims? Those words are criminal, murderous, lethal, Deadly. It’s like a slap or a punch in the face, or even worse.

Director Biography

Franck Villette is an actor, scriptwriter and director, known for “DIX” ( Director – 2017), “Meta Meat : Backstitch” (Director – 2017), “J’ai un aveu à vous faire…” (Actor and director – 2002). His works has been selected to several film festivals.

Director’s Statement

The film deals with homophobia through the prism of words. As the film focuses on actions and words, the film needed to be shot in a unique and “neutral” place: what better place to conceptualise the location and stage the representation of the violence of words than a theatre? The film consists in highlighting the universality of the situations and showing that they can happen anywhere, in any social or family environment, and to anyone.
