Director’s Statement

Because my father fled his home country Chile at a young age for the Pinochet dictatorship, I can always identify well with these kind of stories. They always touch me deeply. This story too. An important fact of the story of this film is the violation of basic human rights that are violated daily in Georgia, and it’s even getting worse. At these moments, a new law is voted in Georgia that further restricts the rights of the Queer community and endangers the lives of activists even more. Telling Emzo’s story in this film is important because Georgia is not alone, but that the basic rights of the Queer community are in danger in many countries around the world. That is why I made this film and why it is important to show it.
