Queer people from all over the world have made Berlin what it is today. Many leave their home because they want to, others because they have to. This film follows a few of them.

The queer universe of Berlin mirrors the movements of the world and is constantly evolving.

In recent decades, a multitude of identities have made themselves heard. Today, gay and lesbian are only two terms among many.

The film interweaves the personal stories and ambitions of the queer protagonists with historical events and current issues. The result is a true image of Berlin as a perpetual place of longing and a challenge to all those who arrive there. A city in constant transition and migration.

Jochen Hick (born April 2, 1960 in Darmstadt) is a German film director and producer of mainly independent feature and documentary films, also specialising in LGBTIQ* subjects. In 1994 he founded the film and TV production company GALERIA ALASKA PRODUCTIONS, based in Hamburg and Berlin. He worked and produced for several production companies and TV channels and contributed to TV documentary programs such as ARD-Exclusive or SPIEGEL TV Reportage. 2007-2010 he is as well editor-in-chief, head of program acquisitions and co-programming director of TIMM, the first TV channel for gay male audiences in German speaking countries, which has been on the air since November 1, 2008.

His 2008 documentary East/West – Sex & Politics concerns Nikolai Alekseev’s attempts to organise the 2007 Moscow Pride event.
The 2017 documentary Mein wunderbares West-Berlin (My Wonderful West Berlin),covers gay experiences in West Berlin between the mid-1940s and the late 1980s and beyond. The film premiered in February 2017 at the 67th Berlin International Film Festival (aka Berlinale). His most recent film is Queer Exile Berlin (2023), being the third part of a trilogy about queer life in Berlin (which also includes Out in East Berlin of 2013).
Jochen Hick’s feature films have been shown at many international film festivals and have been included in the official program of the Berlinale a total of twelve times since 1992. 《酷儿漂浪柏林》是柏林酷儿三部曲的第三部也是最后一部（第一部《我美妙的西柏林》和第二部《出柜在东柏林》也是由我们发行的）。

这是一部从多方面讲述有关酷儿移民的迷人电影。

就在不久前我们在影院取得了令人惊喜的开始。影片在德国影院已经连续上映了12周，许多移民和外籍观众都前来观看了这部电影。

这部电影聚焦于酷儿运动家、难民和跨性别主题，讲述了六位来到柏林并努力在那里生活的主人公。尽管前两部影片已在众多国际电影节上顺利地进行了放映。由于这一部影片主要是在柏林的移民和外籍人士圈子中放映的，且70%的原始对白是英语，这使得这部影片比前两部更容易被英语观众所接受。

QUEER EXILE BERLIN is the 3rd and last part of the QUEER BERLIN TRILOGY (after MY WONDERFUL WEST BERLIN and OUT IN EAST BERLIN which are as well distributed by us).

It is a fascinating film about queer migration in numerous aspects.

We just had an amazing theatrical start and are running in German theatres for the 12th week in a row, with lots of immigrant and expat audiences watching and enjoying the film.

The film concentrates on queer activist, refugee and trans topics, following six protagonists who came to Berlin and are trying to have a life there. Since the film is mainly playing in the migrant and expat scene of Berlin, 70% of the original language is English, which makes the film even more consumable for English speaking audiences than the two previous films – which have been very successfully show at numerous international film festivals.
