Director’s Statement

“Lok Yu Cin” in Cantonese signifies “Before the Rain,” the entire story unfolds on a downpour that is “like rain, yet not quite.” Through the film, I aspire to authentically portray the damp and sultry subtropical climate of a small town in Guangdong, intertwining personal encounters to subtly sketch a female figure trapped in memories, unable to extricate herself, tinged with regret. The film chronicles an emotional itch, a psychological tremor, and an empathetic experience within circumstances.
