MY SUNSHINE

在一座日本的岛屿上，人们的生活随着季节的更迭而展开。冬天正是学校里打冰球的季节，但拓也对此兴致平平。让他感兴趣的是从东京来的花滑新星樱，他被樱深深吸引。曾获冠军的教练荒川发现了拓也的潜力，决定指导拓也和樱组建成双人组合，参加即将到来的比赛。冬日漫漫，三人的感情不断加深，两个孩子也形成了默契的配合。然而，即使是初雪，也终将融化消无。

On a Japanese island, life revolves around the changing seasons. Winter is time for ice hockey at school, but Takuya isn’t too thrilled about it. His real interest lies in Sakura, a figure skating rising star from Tokyo, for whom he starts to develop a genuine fascination. Coach and former champion Arakawa, spots potential in Takuya, and decides to mentor him to form a duo with Sakura for an upcoming competition. As winter persists, feelings grow, and the two children form an harmonious bond. But even the first snow eventually melts away.

Hiroshi Okuyama was born in Tokyo in 1996. He is a screenwriter, cinematographer, editor, and director of his films. In 2009, at the age of 13, he directed the music video ‘Graduationparty!!!!!‘, which premiered at the Kyoto International Film Festival. In 2016 and 2018, he made two short films: ‘The Swan Smiles‘ and ‘Tokyo 21st October‘. In 2018, Hiroshi Okuyama received the Best New Director award at the San Sebastián International Film Festival and the Best Cinematography award at the Stockholm Film Festival for his first feature film ‘Jesus‘, a critical success. In 2022, he made a series of documentary films for Hermès on craftsmanship and collaborated in 2023 with Hirokazu Kore-eda on the screenplay for his series ‘Makanai: Cooking for the Maiko House‘. ‘My Sunshine‘, his second feature film, is presented in the Official Selection Un Certain Regard at the Cannes Film Festival 2024.

在我的第一部长片《耶稣》中，我汲取了自己童年的经历。这让我意识到自己有许多童年回忆，但这些记忆是脆弱的，容易随着时间流逝而消失无踪。从那时开始，我拍过一些广告、MV和电视剧，但我对电影的热情依然强烈。我想用一段难以忘记的童年回忆来创作这部新电影。我希望创作一部简单、富有诗意且无需过多解释的电影。我想对银幕上出现的一切进行舞台化处理，并通过这些，我希望观众能够将他们童年的情感作为当下的珍宝来铭记。

我一直告诉自己，终有一天我会拍一部关于花样滑冰的电影。我小时候接触过花滑，但并不擅长。我得承认，仅凭唤起记忆是不足以拍成这部电影的。后来，我发现了Humbert Humbert的那首歌《我的阳光》，而就当我日日夜夜都在听这首歌的时候，我的电影想要讲述的故事逐渐成型了。与此同时，我遇到了池松壮亮，我确信只要我能在银幕上展现出他的魅力，我就能拍出这部电影。

In ‘Jesus‘, my first feature film, I drew on my own childhood experiences. It was an opportunity to realize that I have many childhood memories, but they are fragile and tend to fade day by day. Since then, I’ve made commercials, music videos, and TV movies, but my passion for cinema is strong. I want to use the lingering scents of childhood for this new film. My ambition is to create a simple, poetic film without being explanatory. I want to bring staging to everything that appears on screen and through this, I hope the viewer can remember the emotions of their childhood as a treasure for the present.

I always told myself that one day I would make a film about figure skating, which I was introduced to as a child. But I couldn’t manage it. I had to accept that invoking memories alone isn’t enough to make a film. Then I discovered the song “My Sunshine” by Humbert Humbert, and as I listened to it daily, the story I needed to film began to take shape. At the same time, I met Sosuke Ikematsu, and I was convinced that if I could translate his charm onto the screen, I could make the film.
